Q: How does the Withering affect an opposing model’s FOC?
A: A warcaster affected by the Withering receives two fewer focus points during his controller’s next Control Phase and has his control area immediately reduced by 4”.
Q: Does the Withering affect THR or FURY?
A: No.
Q: If a knocked down model is hit with Sliver and is therefore shadow bound, can it still forfeit its movement to stand up?
A: Yes.
Q: If I cast Dark Seduction on a unit that includes a ‘jack marshal, do I gain control of the marshaled warjack as well?
A: No.
Q: If I take control of a 10-man unit with Dark Seduction, can I choose to upkeep control of 7 of them the next turn?
A: No. You must pay the upkeep cost for the entire unit, or the spell expires.
Q: Can I activate a unit the turn I cast Dark Seduction on it?
A: Yes. Not only can you, you must activate it.
Q: If a model under the effects of Death Rage suffers an effect that removes it from play, what happens?
A: The model is removed from play. Death Rage only prevents destruction.
Q: If a model has both Tough and Death Rage, which one is resolved first?
A: Make the Tough roll first. If it fails then Death Rage activates.
Q: What if a model being kept in play by Death Rage was hit with Anti-Magic Pulse?
A: Nothing. The spell already expired when the model suffered enough damage to be destroyed.
Q: Can a model move through other models when benefiting from a Ghost Walk spell?
A: No.
Q: Can a model affected by Ghost Walk end its movement on top of an obstruction if it does not have the movement to move completely through it?
A: No.

Breath of Corruption is a cloud effect that stays on the table as long as upkeep is paid. Models entering or ending their activation in the cloud suffer one damage point.
Q: Consuming Blight states that it cannot be used while casting spells. What does that mean?
A: Asphyxious cannot interrupt the casting of a spell to use his feat. For instance, if he had two focus points left, he could not spend them to cast Hellfire, use his feat, and then spend the last point. Nor could he cast an offensive spell, use his feat, and then use the newly-gained focus to pay to boost an attack or damage roll.
Q: Can damage from Iron Blight be boosted?
A: No. It is not a damage roll.
Q: If Iron Lich Asphyxious uses Consuming Blight within 14” of a Satyxis Raider, does it suffer a POW 5 damage roll?
A: Yes. The feat affects all living models, enemy and friendly alike.
Q: Where is the point of origin of Breath of Corruption's lingering effect?
A: There is none.

Q: Does Sacrificial Strike trigger Retribution or Vision?
A: No. Sacrificial Strike is not an attack, so it does not trigger Retribution. It does not “hit” its target, thus it does not trigger Vision.
Q: Can Skarre spend focus points to boost a Takkaryx damage roll in addition to the additional die she gains from Life Trader?
A: Yes.

Q: When creating my army, do I have to pay the points for Bane Thralls summoned by Dark Summons?
A: No. Additionally, Bane Thralls put in play by this feat do not count against the Bane Thralls’ Field Allowance.
Q: Can Goreshade use Dark Summons if there is not enough room for all 6 models?
A: Yes, but any models that cannot be placed are lost.
Q: What happens when a model recasts an upkeep spell affected by The Claiming?
A: The first version expires and the caster suffers no damage.
Q: Can damage from Consumption be boosted?
A: No. It is not a damage roll.
Q: Can a living warcaster channel a spell through a warjack in Goreshade’s control area during a round in which he cast Mage Blight?
A: Yes, provided the warcaster is outside Goreshade’s control area.
Q: If a warjack is placed in another model’s back arc using Soul Gate and the warjack activates later during the same turn, does it get the back strike bonus?
A: Yes.
Q: Goreshade casts The Claiming on a unit under the effects of Dark Seduction. Does the new target of the spell have to make a command check?
A: Yes. If the unit passes its command check, Dark Seduction expires. If the unit fails its command check, Deneghra takes control of the unit.
Q: If Deathwalker has been kept from destruction
by Death Rage and Goreshade then suffers suffi cient
damage to be destroyed, can she use Dark Restoration?
A: No. A model affected by Death Rage cannot be
destroyed for the turn after Death Rage takes effect,
but the Deathwalker must be destroyed to make Dark
Restoration work.
Q: If Goreshade Claims Iron Curtain and moves it to another warjack in Karchev's battlegroup, does he choose a second warjack, or does he only move the first end of the Curtain?

Q: When using Spectral Legion, what can a returned model do if it cannot charge? What if it can charge but does not have any targets?
A: A returned model that cannot charge at all does nothing. If it can charge but has no target, the model activates but does nothing (Remix pg. 34).
Q: Can Lich Lord Asphyxious use Convocation to cast Puppet Strings or Demoniac offensively?
A: Yes.
Q: How does Excarnate and abilities like Seneschal's Restoration, Croe's Nine Lives, The Harbinger's Martyrdom, and artillery Weapon Crew interact?
A: Excarnate takes effect first and prevents these abilities from taking effect.
Q: If a Bokur is Excarnated by epic Asphyxious, can it have a client? Does it still have its original client?
A: No to both. Excarnate creates a new, but identical version of the destroyed model, so the original client no longer works. It also cannot have a new client because this new Bokur model was not around at the start of the game to choose a client.
Q: A spell cast by means of Convocation cannot be cast by the original caster that turn. Does this also mean that if a caster has already cast the spell this turn before Asphyxious' activation, then Asphyxious cannot use it?
A: Yes.
Q: If a model destroyed by Excarnate is knocked down, stationary, has a continuous effect on it, etc., does the Excarnate model inherit these effects?
A: No. It is a new model replacing the one that was destroyed. All spells, effects, and animi on the replaced model expired when it was destroyed by Excarnate.
Q: Asphyxious Excarnates a solo. It later leaves play. Does Asphyxious' opponent get a VP?
A: The new Excarnate model is not worth VPs.
Q: Does Asphyxious get a VP for the Excarnated solo?
A: Yes, when the solo is initially Excarnated.

Q: Does Terminus get soul tokens for models destroyed during a turn he uses Dragon’s Call but before he uses the feat?
A: No.
Q: Can Terminus use Dying Breath after a free strike?
A: Yes.
Q: What happens if Terminus is directly hit by an AOE and uses Sacrificial Pawn?
A: Center the AOE over the model that is hit instead of Terminus.
Q: Terminus and a friendly non-incorporeal undead model are both hit by a spray attack. Can Terminus use Sacrificial Pawn to have the other model hit twice to avoid being hit himself?
A: Yes.
Q: Does Tattered Wings allow Terminus to charge a target, move past it, and then turn around to face it?
A: No. A charging model must end its charge movement while it engages the target of the charge. In order for Terminus to fly over his charge target, he would have to engage and then disengage it.
Q: How does Demoniac interact with cavalry impact attacks?
A: After destroying a model with an impact attack, an affected cavalry model must make an additional melee attack for Demoniac. This additional melee attack cannot be an impact attack. Once all impact and Demoniac attacks have been resolved, the cavalry model continues its charge movement.
Q: If a model under the effect of Demoniac attacks an enemy model affected by Black Spot, do Demoniac attacks generate additional Black spot attacks? Would the Black spot attacks generate more Demoniac attacks?
A: Yes to both.
Q: Does Annihilation create a second soul token, or is the soul token gathered by Annihilation the destroyed model's original soul?
A: Only one soul token (the original) is generated.
Q: Does Teminus gain tokens for Protectorate models destroyed by Annihilation in spite of the Omegus?
A: No. The spell itself does not generate the soul tokens.

Q: Which Witch suffers the damage if a warjack in the Witch Coven's battlegroup is affected by Backlash (Skarre) or Feedback (Satyxis Raiders)?
A: The Witch Coven’s controller chooses which of the three Witches will suffer the damage. A different Witch may be chosen for each attack.
Q: Can each Witch issue an order per activation?
A: Yes.
Q: Each Witch is a warcaster. Does that mean each witch can perform Nightfall once a game?
A: No, the Witch Coven’s feat can only be used once per game.
Q: A witch in the Witch Coven of Garlghast targets a model with Stealth with a spell. Which of the models in the Coven has to be within the 5” of the target in order to ignore Stealth?
A: The Witch casting the spell. According to Arcane Nexus, "all modifiers are based on the Witch."
Q: Two models are in base-to-base contact. Is it possible to cast Imprison so that only one of those two is in the perimeter?
A: No.
Q: Can you leave the area of Imprison using a "placing" effect (Flash, Unseen path)?
A: Yes.
Q: A unit under the effects of Necrophage is hit by an AOE or other attack that damages the models simultaneously. How do you determine the fi rst model destroyed in order to resolve the explosion from Necrophage?
A: The attacker chooses which model explodes.
Q: Does the explosion from Necrophage affect Incorporeal models?
A: Yes.
Q: In a Theater of War campaign, if you lose a single Witch in a campaign game, would she be removed from the detachment as a solo, or would she come back as a warcaster would?
A: She would come back in the same manner as a damaged warcaster.
Q: A warjack affected by Infernal Machine is in melee with a model. The model makes a command check against Terror. Infernal Machine is then cast on another warjack and cast again on the original warjack. Does the model have to make a command check against Terror again?
A: Yes.
Q: Can you affect the perimeter of Imprison with a spray that does not target it directly? What about Unearthly Rage and Wraith Bane? What about deviating AOEs (either ranged or magic)?
A: Yes to all.
Q: Suppose a model with Stealth crosses the line connecting two Witches and is more than 5" away from both. Can the witches benefit from Perfect Conjunction?

Q: Can a model be placed in deep water by Dark Banishment?
A: Yes.
Q: Can Dark Banishment move a model under the effects of Fortify?
A: Yes. Fortify does not offer protection against being placed.
Q: If Deneghra is Incorporeal due to Wraith Walker, do continuous effects on her expire before she loses Incorporeal?
A: No. She loses Incorporeal in step 1 of the Maintenance Phase, and continuous effects are resolved in step 4.
Q: Wraith Witch Deneghra casts Marked for Death on a Khador model within 7" of a Winter Guard Mortar Crew. The Mortar has a minimum Range and cannot target within 8". When the Gunner fires the Mortar, what happens?
A: The Gunner must target the marked model when making a ranged attack, so he cannot fire the Mortar at all.
Q: If a model charges or slams a model but a model affected by Marked for Death is also within melee range, what happens?
A: Resolve the attack normally against the original target. Any additional attacks must target the marked model, however.
Q: What happens if Lieutenant Allister Caine uses Maelstrom and there is a model affected by Marked for Death in his control area?
A: Each time Caine makes a Maelstrom attack against a model, the attack is resolved against the marked model instead. Caine must continue to redirect his Maelstrom attacks until the marked model is destroyed.

A: Yes to both, but remember that Black Spot only grants attacks during a model's combat action.
Q: How many times can Skarre use Precognition during her activation?
A: There is no restriction to the number of times Skarre can use Precognition during a single activation.
Q: Do you get a ranged or a melee attack after hitting and Dragging a model affected by Black Spot?
A: If the melee attack destroys the Black Spotted model, it gains an additional melee attack.
Q: A Skarlock casts Blood Ritual. How are secondary effects resolved?
A: Skarre resolves them.
Q: Can you charge a model that is protected by Epic Skarre's feat just to get the +3" movement? If yes, what happens then? Can a Devastator charge such a model and then use its special attack (it requires no target)?
A: No, you cannot charge a model you cannot target with a melee attack.

Q: Is the number of power tokens gained limited by the amount of focus a warcaster has to lose? (For example when attacking with several Stalkers)
A: No. There is no upper limit.
Q: Can a Stalker still leap after being Soul Gated by Goreshade?
A: No. Leap counts as additional movement, and Soul Gate forbids movement that turn.
Q: Is Leap considered to be part of the Stalker’s normal movement?

Deathjack does not roll an additional damage die when it charges and makes a Necrovent attack, but the damage may be boosted normally. The Deathjack may spend focus points to make additional melee attacks after a Necrovent attack. A model entering or ending its activation in the cloud suffers one damage point. Deathjack never suffers damage from Necrovent. A Necrovent special attack does not need a target.

p.94 : Unbound
Replace the first sentence of Unbound with the following:
At the start of its activation, without spending a focus point Deathjack immediately charges its controlling warcaster unless it has at least three focus points or a friendly warrior model within 3" of Deathjack is sacrificed and removed from play. If there is a clear path to its controlling warcaster, Deathjack cannot choose a path that would cause it to contact another model or an
obstacle so that the charge fails.
Q: Will Disruption prevent the focus gained by the Soul Furnace?
A: No.
Q: Do the Deathjack’s Horns add to the power of head-butt attacks?
A: No.
Q: What happens when Unbound causes the Deathjack to advance or charge toward its controlling warcaster but it fails to get into melee with the warcaster?
A: Its activation ends.
Q: If the Deathjack is part of the Coven's battlegroup and it becomes Unbound, which of the witches does it charge?
A: It charges the closest Witch within its LOS. Do not forget that the Deathjack has 360° LOS if it has at least one functional Skull of Hate.
Q: Can the Deathjack use Soulgate on itself?
A: Yes. Remember that you still use Goreshade's control area.

p.125 : Purge
Replace text of Purge with the following:
The Bile Thrall sprays out the entire contents of its guts, deflating and automatically hitting all models within 6”
of the Bile Thrall’s front arc. Terrain that obstructs LOS blocks the Purge attack. A model in range of the Purge
attack cannot be hit by the attack if the attacker’s LOS to it is completely blocked by terrain. Models hit take a
POW 12 damage roll and suffer Corrosion, then remove the Bile Thrall from play. Purge is a ranged attack.
Q: Can an engaged Bile Thrall make a Purge special attack?
A: No. Purge is a ranged attack.
Q: Can a Bile Thrall Purge through a Trencher smoke screen?
A: Purge will penetrate a cloud effect, but the Bile Thrall can only perform a Purge if it has a target within LOS.
Q: What if a model with Stealth is within the area of a Purge?
A: It is automatically hit even if it is further than 5" away from the Bile Thrall. Special rules that cause attacks automatically to hit override special rules that cause them automatically to miss.
Q: Does Purge trigger Retribution?
A: Yes; however, the Bile Thrall is gone when the damage roll is returned by Retribution. Retribution then expires as normal.

Q: Does Feedback damage a ‘jack marshal?
A: No. A ‘jack marshal is not a controlling warcaster and is therefore not affected by Feedback.
Q: If the Revenant Crew has Death Rage cast on it and the Quartermaster suffers enough damage to be destroyed, is Death Rage triggered or does he roll for Tough first?
A: Roll for Tough first. If Tough fails, Death Rage is triggered.
Q: The Quartermaster is under the effect of Death Rage and suffers sufficient damage to be destroyed. Which comes first next turn, the expiration of Death Rage (and the subsequent destruction of the Quartermaster) or the return of the pirates?
A: Death Rage expires first. The Quartermaster is destroyed before any pirates can return to play.
Q: A pirate uses Death Stroke while under the effects of Skarre's feat Blood Magic. Do you double the model’s STR and then add the modifier for Blood Magic?
A: Yes.
Q: Do revenant crew return to play before or after continuous effects are resolved in the Maintenance Phase?
A: Before.

Q: Can Sleepwalker make a model move into deep water or off a cliff?

A: Yes. Like any rule, there is only 1 version of Repair: the most recently printed one.
Q: Can a Scrap Thrall making a Death Burst special action move across rough terrain?
A: Yes, at half rate as usual.
Q: If I pick up a Scrap Thrall with a warjack and throw it, when would it explode?
A: It takes damage after the throw movement, so it would explode at its destination.
Q: If I immobilize a knocked down model, what can it do?
A: It can forfeit its action to stand up.
Q: What if I Immobilize a Revenger with the Vise Claw?
A: The Necrotech will be pushed back 1", and its hold will be broken.

Q: Is a Skarlock affected by Lamentation?
A: The Skarlock is not affected by Lamentation because it does not spend focus points to cast spells.
Q: Can the Skarlock Thrall cast spells with a range of "Self?"
A: No. Spells with a range of "Self" are the same as range of "Caster," so the Skarlock may not cast them.
Q: Can a Skarlock cast Skarre's Sacrificial Lamb on itself?
A: Yes.
Q: If a Despoiler attack destroys half or more of a unit, does it have to make two command checks?
A: Yes.

A: They flee from the Bloat Thrall.

A: No. A functioning cortex is only a requirement for the Machine Wraith to enter, not to stay.
Q: If a Machine Wraith is expelled from a warjack, when can the warjack be activated?
A: Any time during the warjack’s controlling player’s turn.
Q: If the game ends with a warjack under the control of a Machine Wraith, does the controlling Cryx player score victory points for it?
A: No.
Q: How many times can a warcaster try to eject a Machine Wraith from his warjack?
A: As many times as the warcaster has focus to spend.
Q: The rules for Machine Meld say a warcaster may spend one focus point to make a magic attack roll to eject the wraith. Black Oil’s effects (Gorman di Wulfe) state that it prevents magic attacks. Does Black Oil prevent a warcaster from spending a focus point to attempt to eject the wraith?
A: No. Although they use magic attack rolls, attempts to eject a Machine Wraith are not magic attacks and are therefore not prevented by Black Oil
Q: A Machine Wraith possesses a warjack. During the Cryx player’s next turn, the warjack activates. Is this also the Machine Wraith’s activation?
A: No. The Machine Wraith is not on the table and therefore does not get an activation.

A: No.

Q: What happens when the Pistol Wraith shoots at targets in melee and misses with both attacks but happens to hit another model with both of them?
A: It may make its chain attack against the model that was hit by both of its initial attacks even if that model was not the declared target of those attacks.
Q: What happens if the chain attack misses a model in melee?
A: Nothing. The attack cannot target a model that was not hit by both initial attacks.
